Challenge — Plymouth, Massachusetts stood at a crossroads. The former Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant site — 1,531 acres of ecologically significant land adjacent to the Redbrook community — faced the prospect of fragmented residential development that would permanently destroy contiguous wildlife habitat, disrupt critical pollinator corridors, and eliminate one of the South Shore's last remaining interior-forest sanctuaries. Farm The Sun USA engaged Alfa Catalisi to architect a management consulting strategy that could unite municipal stakeholders, conservation organizations, and local businesses around a single, fundable alternative vision — before the window closed permanently.
Solution — Alfa Catalisi designed and executed a comprehensive conservation management strategy anchored by the Pilgrim Trifecta — a three-part framework protecting birds, bees, and butterflies across 1,431 acres in perpetuity. Working alongside Farm The Sun USA, we coordinated with nonprofit and institutional partners such as Mass Audubon, the Conservation Law Foundation, and A.D. Makepeace, aligning each organization's mission and economic interests around a unified conservation plan. The strategy simultaneously addressed clean energy infrastructure, while permanently protecting 93.5% of the site as a contiguous bio-shield and living wildlife sanctuary. Alfa Catalisi coordinated stakeholder outreach, deal structuring, sponsorship architecture, and regulatory navigation across municipal, nonprofit, and private sector constituencies.
Outcome — 1,431 acres placed on a pathway to permanent conservation protection. Pollinator corridors established in coordination with A.D. Makepeace to support chemical-free cranberry operations at Redbrook. Bird sanctuary framework established protecting interior-forest nesting grounds for Wood Thrush, Ovenbird, and dozens of indigenous and migratory species. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in conservation sponsorship structured to protect the site in perpetuity. Coalition proposed with Mass Audubon, the Conservation Law Foundation, and A.D. Makepeace — each as long-term stewardship affiliates. This engagement is active and advancing across municipal, regulatory, and institutional channels. Full outcome details will be published upon project closure — consistent with our commitment to client confidentiality at every stage of a live initiative.
